Research, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Intern – TGED Foundation, Nigeria
Organisation Description
Triple Green Environmental Development Foundation (TGED Foundation) is a nonprofit organisation in Nigeria dedicated to fostering environmental sustainability through inclusive, community-driven solutions. Its work cuts across community engagement, grassroots projects, stakeholder collaboration, environmental education, public health advocacy and evidence-based research, with a mission to advance community-led solutions for climate and environmental resilience. Current initiatives include the Eco-Savers School Project, the Plastic-Free Ekiti Campaign, the Kick for Planet Initiative and the Treevolution Seed to School Initiative, which together span environmental and climate education, climate justice and policy advocacy, sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity conservation and capacity building.
Project Scope
This project contributes to TGED Foundation's mission of advancing community-led climate and environmental solutions by strengthening evidence, monitoring and organisational learning across its four flagship initiatives: the Eco-Savers School Project, the Plastic-Free Ekiti Campaign, the Kick for Planet Initiative and the Treevolution Seed to School Initiative:
Supporting the administration of surveys, pre- and post-learning assessments and stakeholder feedback tools across the initiatives.
Assisting with data entry, cleaning and analysis of participation, outcome and campaign data.
Tracking project outputs and outcomes, including school engagement, seedling survival rates and stakeholder participation.
Documenting 2–3 lessons learned, success stories or impact case studies for internal and external use.
Conducting background research on climate, environmental and policy topics to inform programme design and advocacy.
Supporting the development or refinement of 1–2 MEL tools such as monitoring frameworks, surveys or outcome trackers.
Project Outcomes
Clean, analysed datasets with 2–3 summary reports covering participation and outcomes.
An updated outcome tracker spanning the four flagship initiatives.
2–3 documented lessons learned, success stories or impact case studies.
1–2 refined MEL tools such as surveys, assessment templates or monitoring frameworks.
A short research brief informing programme design or policy advocacy.
Internship Requirements
Analytical & Research Skills: Ability to conduct desktop research, work with quantitative and qualitative data and synthesise insights into structured documents.
MEL Awareness: Interest in monitoring, evaluation and learning, impact measurement or evidence-based programme design.
Writing & Documentation: Competence in preparing reports, case studies and short research briefs.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, especially spreadsheets for data entry and analysis.
Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with the TGED Foundation team and respond to feedback.
