Responsibilities

The Business Development Intern will support Homes Industries with practical tasks that strengthen day-to-day business development processes. The role is designed for an entry-level intern and focuses on documentation, early-stage outreach preparation, and helping the team communicate Homes Industries’ work clearly to external stakeholders. Tasks include:

  • Drafting 2–3 short product information sheets for key sunflower, rice, and groundnut products.

  • Preparing simple business development materials, such as introductory emails, company profiles, and product summaries for outreach.

  • Supporting desk research on stores, distributors, and small retailers (listing locations, contact details, and product categories).

  • Compiling 1–2 competitor comparison tables focused on pricing, packaging, and product descriptions (no strategic interpretation required).

  • Helping update Homes Industries’ pitch deck with refreshed images, basic content edits, or simple layout improvements.

  • Creating a basic outreach tracker to record which retailers or stakeholders have been contacted, including dates and responses.

  • Drafting meeting notes or follow-up summaries after internal discussions or external calls (if applicable).

Project Outcomes

  • 2–3 product information sheets ready for use in outreach.

  • A small set of business development support materials (company profile, introductory email templates, product summaries).

  • A simple retailer/distributor desk research list with key contact details.

  • 1–2 competitor comparison tables based on publicly available information.

  • A refreshed version of the Homes Industries pitch deck (light edits).

  • An organised outreach tracker that shows progress and next steps.

  • Clear meeting summaries to support team coordination.

Internship Requirements

  • Strong written communication and ability to prepare short documents.

  • Basic research skills for gathering publicly available information.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace, especially Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Interest in agriculture, food processing, or business development.

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative on operational tasks.
