Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Assistant – School Farms, Ghana

Project Scope
The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Assistant will support School Farms Ghana in strengthening its data systems, tracking programme impact, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. This role provides practical experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, programme reporting, and impact measurement within a social impact and agricultural development context.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting the collection, cleaning, and organisation of programme data related to farm outputs, nutrition outcomes, student participation, and community engagement.
Assisting in maintaining structured datasets using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar digital tools.
Supporting the development of surveys and simple data collection tools using platforms such as Google Forms or KoboToolbox.
Assisting in creating basic dashboards, charts, or visualisations to communicate programme progress and impact.
Supporting the preparation of impact reports, donor updates, and learning summaries.
Assisting in tracking key indicators aligned with the CENS+ framework across Climate, Education, Nutrition, and Skills outcomes.
Supporting the documentation of programme insights, trends, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Participating in weekly check-ins and contributing to reflective learning discussions with the School Farms Ghana team.
Project Outcomes
Clean and organised datasets maintained and updated throughout the placement period.
At least one dashboard, visual summary, or data visualisation developed to support programme reporting.
Contributions made towards impact reports, donor reports, or programme learning documents.
A structured overview of key programme indicators and trends produced for internal use.
Recommendations identified to support future programme improvement and monitoring processes.
A short reflective report completed outlining learning outcomes, contributions, and observations from the internship experience.
Internship Requirements
Interest in monitoring and evaluation, social impact, research, education, agriculture, or international development.
Strong organisational and analytical skills.
Basic confidence using Excel, Google Sheets, or similar data management tools.
Attention to detail and ability to work with structured information and datasets.
Ability to communicate findings clearly through written summaries or visual formats.
Willingness to learn and engage with sustainability, food systems, and youth development themes.
Good time-management and collaborative working skills.
