Marketing Intern – Assorted Trends, Uganda
Organisation Description
Assorted Trends Africa is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering marginalised rural women and young people through community-driven initiatives. The organisation focuses on amplifying voices and fostering transformation in health, education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship development. Since its inception, Assorted Trends Africa has equipped and graduated 67 rural teenage and young mothers with vocational and business skills, supported 278 rural women in 9 groups to strengthen their microbusinesses, and reached 1,569 students through its sexual reproductive health and rights school programmes.
Project Scope
The Marketing Assistant will support Assorted Trends Africa to enhance its visibility and engagement through digital and community-focused campaigns. The role involves creating and managing promotional content, strengthening the organisation’s brand identity, and supporting outreach to key stakeholders and communities.
Develop and manage digital content for social media platforms and the organisation’s website.
Assist in designing promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and impact stories.
Support the creation of campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the organisation’s initiatives.
Conduct market research to identify opportunities for outreach and partnerships.
Monitor and analyse marketing performance to refine communication strategies.
Assist in coordinating marketing events and community engagement activities.
Project Outcomes
Increased engagement on digital platforms through consistent and effective content creation.
At least two promotional materials (e.g., brochures, newsletters, or reports) developed to showcase the organisation’s work.
Market research report identifying outreach opportunities and potential partners.
Performance analysis reports contributing to improved marketing strategies.
Support provided for at least one marketing event or campaign, boosting visibility and stakeholder interest.
Internship Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are an advantage.
Ability to conduct market research and analyse outreach effectiveness.
Organisational skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
