Marketing Assistant – School Farms, Ghana
Organisation Description
School Farms Ghana is an initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity, promoting sustainable agriculture, and empowering young people in Ghana. The project establishes school farms across various educational institutions to provide students with hands-on agricultural training, improve their understanding of sustainable farming practices, and create a source of food for school meals. By promoting agribusiness education, School Farms Ghana encourages students to see agriculture as a viable career path, ultimately contributing to local economic growth and food security.
Project Scope
The Marketing Assistant intern will play a crucial role in developing and promoting School Farms Ghana's media kit, aimed at enhancing visibility and attracting potential partners, donors, and sponsors. The media kit will highlight the organisation's mission, impact, and goals, serving as a key tool for outreach efforts.
Develop and manage digital marketing content for social media platforms and the organisation’s website.
Assist in creating promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, and impact reports.
Support content creation for campaigns aimed at increasing engagement and attracting new donors or supporters.
Conduct market research to identify potential partnerships and outreach opportunities.
Track and analyse marketing performance metrics to optimise engagement and campaign effectiveness.
Assist in coordinating marketing events and outreach initiatives.
Project Outcomes
Successfully created and managed digital content that increased engagement on social media and other online platforms.
Developed at least two key promotional materials (e.g., brochures, newsletters, or reports) to enhance outreach efforts.
Conducted market research identifying potential partners or supporters, with recommendations for engagement strategies.
Analysed marketing performance data and contributed to refining promotional strategies for improved outreach.
Supported the execution of at least one marketing event or campaign, contributing to increased visibility and stakeholder engagement.
Internship Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.
Ability to conduct market research and analyse engagement metrics.
Organisational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Passion for non-profit work, agriculture, education, and community development.
