Education and Skills Facilitator x 2 – School Farms, Ghana
Organisation Description
School Farms is a social initiative dedicated to addressing food insecurity, promoting sustainable agriculture, and empowering young people. The organisation establishes school farms across educational institutions, providing students with hands-on agricultural training, strengthening awareness of sustainable farming practices, and contributing to local food security. By encouraging agribusiness education, School Farms inspires students to view agriculture as a viable career pathway while fostering local economic growth and community resilience. Through its CENS+ framework, School Farms integrates Climate, Education, Nutrition and Skills development to create practical, community-based learning experiences that support long-term sustainable impact.
Project Scope
The Education and Skills Facilitator will support School Farms in delivering, testing, and reviewing its educational toolkits and learning content across school farm sites. The role combines hands-on facilitation — guiding students and teachers through toolkit activities — with quality review, helping ensure materials are practical, engaging, and effective before wider rollout. The role offers practical experience in facilitation, instructional delivery, content evaluation, and curriculum improvement.
Responsibilities may include:
Facilitating and demonstrating the use of School Farms Ghana's educational toolkits, lesson plans, and activity resources with students and teachers at school farm sites.
Reviewing and testing existing toolkit content (lesson plans, worksheets, activity guides, Nourish Lab materials) for clarity, accuracy, and ease of use.
Piloting new or revised learning modules in real classroom or farm-based settings and gathering feedback from students and teachers.
Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement in toolkit content and recommending practical revisions.
Supporting teachers with guidance on how to effectively deliver toolkit-based lessons and activities.
Documenting facilitation sessions, observations, and feedback to inform ongoing curriculum development.
Collaborating with the Curriculum & Learning Content Development team to relay field insights and support content refinement.
Working with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team to track toolkit effectiveness and learning outcomes.
Assisting in embedding inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally relevant approaches into facilitation and toolkit delivery.
Supporting the organisation and documentation of reviewed materials for future scaling and replication.
