The organisation establishes school farms across educational institutions, providing students with hands-on agricultural training, strengthening awareness of sustainable farming practices, and contributing to local food security. By encouraging agribusiness education, School Farms Ghana inspires students to view agriculture as a viable career pathway while fostering local economic growth and community resilience. Through its CENS+ framework, School Farms Ghana integrates Climate, Education, Nutrition and Skills development to create practical, community-based learning experiences that support long-term sustainable impact.
Project Scope
The Curriculum & Learning Content Developer will support School Farms Ghana in designing engaging and structured educational materials that strengthen experiential learning across agriculture, nutrition, environmental education, and life skills. The role offers practical experience in curriculum development, educational content creation, and sustainability-focused learning design.
Responsibilities may include:
Developing lesson plans aligned with Ghana’s NaCCA curriculum, integrating agriculture, science, home economics, environmental education, and sustainability themes.
Designing practical learning modules for the Nourish Lab focused on nutrition, cooking, food safety, hygiene, and healthy eating.
Creating teacher guidance materials and student activity resources to support experiential and hands-on learning.
Supporting the development of simple educational tools such as worksheets, farm logbooks, activity templates, and reflection exercises.
Assisting in embedding inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally relevant learning approaches into educational materials.
Collaborating with the School Farms Ghana team to improve the structure, accessibility, and consistency of learning resources.
Working alongside the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team to integrate programme insights and feedback into curriculum development.
Supporting the documentation and organisation of curriculum resources for future scaling and replication.
Project Outcomes
Structured lesson plans and educational modules developed in alignment with the NaCCA curriculum framework.
At least one completed learning module, toolkit, or educational resource produced during the placement period.
Practical and user-friendly teaching and learning materials created for classroom and farm-based activities.
Improved consistency and organisation of School Farms Ghana’s educational content and resources.
Contributions made towards the development of a scalable and replicable curriculum model supporting agriculture and nutrition education.
A short reflective report completed outlining learning outcomes, contributions, and recommendations for future content development.
Internship Requirements
Interest in education, curriculum development, sustainability, agriculture, nutrition, or youth development.
Strong written communication and content development skills.
Ability to simplify information into engaging and accessible learning materials.
Creativity and attention to detail.
Basic familiarity with lesson planning, educational resources, or instructional design principles.
Willingness to learn and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
